Best Shampoo for Thinning Hair
There is no better shampoo for thinning hair than Nexxus Biotin Shampoo. I have tried too many to quote, but this one actually increases the volume of my hair making it look like I have more than I actually do. When it does this it also makes it easier to manage because it improves the body of the hair so that it is not thin and fly away. And it does it with a shampoo that has a great fragrance to it. I have been using this product for years and have found nothing better. I buy it by the gallon because I am so afraid that they are going to stop making it. If you have thinning hair, you will love this stuff.

Long time satisfied user (of the 'old' Diametress)
I have fine hair. I've been using Nexxus Diametress shampoo for years, twenty years +, and I've always been extremely happy with it. My hair is thicker with more body with this shampoo and I can wear my hair longer as a result. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this shampoo. I haven't been able to find anything that works nearly as good.

But, I'll have to really try now. I went to purchase it a few weeks ago and it's in a new package. My heart sank when I saw that because it usually means they've been tampering with the ingredients. I compared the list of ingredients from the new bottle when I got home, with the 'old' bottle and the list is a bit different. I tried the new one once and didn't like it. I'm waiting to try it again when I'm not as busy. Might be I used too much hairspray when I used it the first time. But I could tell the difference in the shower just by the way it lathered. The 'old' Diametress lather feels rich and silky and as if it's making my hair better already. The 'new' one lacked that feel. It was really disappointing from the get go! When I styled my hair, it was more fly-away, not as manageable and not nearly as full. I'm very disappointed in the 'new' Diametress!

Sorry, but I don't understand why a company has a product that works great and then has to mess with it. I think advertising to let people know what a great product it is would be more beneficial than changing it to save some money and as a result, making an inferior product that is no longer worth the $11 or $12 they're asking for it. Someone at the company is making really bad decisions! They stopped making Nexxus "Retexxtur" which used to be Rejuvaperm which was the BEST thing for permed hair. Now they've changed Diametress. Sadly, I'm forced to go looking for a replacement.

You are a company, you need to have good products to sell. You have great products. Instead of advertising that, you change them, dumb them down if you will, until you have an inferior product. How does this make any sense?

The company's customer service department is great. But these decisions come from higher up. I'll call again to complain, don't know that it will do any good.

I've noticed a difference in my hair since using this product. My hair appears slightly thicker and feels thicker. Good product at a good price.

Gives me squeaky clean (literally), thicker, stronger, better-looking hair
I've been using the Biotin shampoo for a couple of months now and I found it to provide a thorough, gentle cleaning of my hair ans scalp and, when used as directed, hair feels stronger, thicker. I don't believe I will be getting back to my my previous brand (Nexxus Therape). While more expensive, the Biotin shampoo appears to be the best so far for my hair - for some background, I have a full head of hair but it's in the process of thinning and maybe may forehead advanced by half an inch in the past 10 years :) so I'm a lot more conscious of what washes my hair now than I was 10 years ago.

Biotin is part of the VitaTress line of products, designed for those whose hair is in the process of thinning. It is claimed that Biotin eliminates excess sebum, strengthens hair and adds thickness and body to it. I concur with these claims. When use as directed - massage into hair and scalp and let it stay there for 3 minutes before rinsing - the hair comes out literally 'squeaky clean'. It really squeaks if you rub you hand on your wet hair, or it does so for me. There is absolutely no feeling of discomfort while using the shampoo. Once the hair dries, it feels significantly stronger and thicker and it looks significantly healthier and more alive than before the Biotin treatment. The other claim, that this shampoo slows or reverses hair loss I can't verify. Maybe I'll come back in a year or 2 and discuss share my findings but, as of now, all I can say is that my hair looks and feels better after I wash it with Biotin.

Additional facts worth sharing:

- A bottle this size is likely to last for many months so, while the price is high, it's not THAT high when spread over 4 to 6 months.
- While it's not stated anywhere, it seems to act as a conditioner. I would not use use a conditioner after Biotin myself.
- The 'pump' bottle is very convenient because it helps you get the proper amount without waste and it prevents water from the shower from diluting the contents.
- For what is worth, the ingredients include: Jojoba oil, Biotin, Cysteine, Inositol and Methionine plus DHT inhibitors.
- Other ingredients include: Ginseng root extract, Ginkgo Bilboa extract, Swertia Japonica extract, Palmaria Palmata extract and so forth.

I will continue to use Biotin until I am made aware of a superior product. Until then, I am happy with it.

I love this stuff.

The best of the toners
I've tried several different toners, and much to my surprise this one is the best AND it's one of the least expensive. Your hands won't turn purple with the Nexxus toner, and they will with many of the others. It does a great job of cutting the brassy tones out of colored hair.

Ok but not impressive
I bought this mainly because I had heard that this would help with static. Unfortunately, it didn't help much. I noticed a small decrease in the amount of static in my hair but it didn't take care of the problem completely. As for the thickening part, I have very fine hair and I didn't find this product did much for my volume. What I did like about it was that my hair did seem healthier & smoother. Through trial & error I learned the right amount to use. If I used too much my hair would get a greasy feel towards the end of the day. So I use just a small dime size amount and it gives me that smooth healthy look without getting greasy. Once I am done with this bottle, I'm not sure I am impressed enough to buy again.

Wonderful conditioner, great buy
Hooray for Nexxus. Didn't think they could improve on Humectress, the conditioner I have been using with their Therappe shampoo for years. But they did. Humectin is thicker, one needs to use only one or two teaspoonsfuls of it to cover the whole head, and the results are sensational: non-greasy, healthy hair that's easy to comb or brush--great results from a great product that, incidentally, I think is a great buy since a very little of it goes a very, very long way.

Do you remember "Johnsons no more tangles" when you were a kid? It was a spray you sprayed over your hair after the shower and then you could comb through your hair with no problem.

Wonderful product

Great moisture
I am african-american and it is hard to find a good conditioner that can be used as a leave-in or rinse out conditioner and that works. I really like the whole Nexxus line. It is affordable, available at many wal-marts, and it smells yummy! I find that this conditioner works well as a deep conditioner underneath a shower cap or hooded hair dryer. It leaves hair nice and soft.

From the viewpoint of one with curly, dry hair, which can get pretty unmanageable.
I bought this because it doesn't have the dreaded dimethicone or amodimethicone, because the 'cone family is truly the bane of all curly-haired existence (Read "Curly Girl" by Lorraine Massey for more on that), and because it "has stood the test of time."

Still and all, from my standpoint as curly and proud of it, this is not an impressive conditioner, esp. for a premium-priced product. It DOES condition, but not better than most things out there. I love my curls, and I'm not too hung up about (a bit of) frizz. On the up side, Humectress is a decent conditioner with good ingredients and the pump bottle is a neat and easy way to dispense product. On the down side, I wish I would have spent my $30+ on 5 or 6 smaller bottles of my current favorite, L'Oreal Vive Pro Nutri-Gloss Conditioner for hair that is long and curly/wavy (in pink bottle).

Fantastic!
This stuff is super! I thought I was using good shampoo before, but this stuff practically makes my hair SING! I have long, [untreated] naturally blond hair, so I need good shampoo. Some products make my hair look dark, or greasy, or seem to strip the life right out of it. Not this stuff. I kid you not, if I wash it, use the Nexus Humectress Conditioner, towel dry it, then air dry it naturally, I see the most beautiful natural color and waves in it. I never saw my hair come out like that before. I LOVE this stuff. I should mention that I am NOT a spring chicken either, so I don't have that hair-like-a-baby the 25 year olds have in the television commercials.

Expensive, well worth the expense
This is, by far, the most expensive shampoo I've ever bought (I'm a guy). I bought a 2*20oz. bottles (shampoo + conditioner) combo from a brick store but, being a guy, I don't care much about the conditioner part because I don't have the patience to use it. This means that I'm using the shampoo only and the conditioner goes to waste. I wish I checked Amazon first but, somehow, when it comes to grooming supply, Amazon is not (yet) the first place that comes to mind.

Now, about the shampoo itself. It is, BY FAR, the best shampoo I've ever used at home. And this says a lot, since it's coming from 'a guy'. I'm not going to say what other brands I used recently but, with the Therappe, my hair is shinier, feels more alive, it's easier to comb. It gives me that sensation of comfort that the shampoo commercials like to talk about but, somehow, I've never felt before.

And, one more thing. I LOVE the pump solution. We have kids and, whenever they take showers in our bathroom, which is often, we find the shampoo bottles open and water from the shower mixed with the shampoo. It can't happen with a pump top. So, if you have kids, the pump tops are the way to go :)

It looks like I'll be using Nexxus as my default shampoo until something better comes up.

Note: do check the shipping charge before placing an order. Some vendors like to add 'an arm and a leg' shipping charge but some are more reasonable than others.

New life for my hair
I started using this product by recommendation of my hair stylist. After illness, I had lost a lot of hair and was starting to get bald patches. My hair was thin and unmanageable. Nexus Vitatress Products
I have been using these products for about 10 years with fantastic results. My hair has always been fine and straight, however, with age it became very fragile too and would break, fall out and became thin and dull. The Biotin Shampoo gave my hair softness, shine and body without weighing it down, and it stopped falling out. Many people say that shampoo builds up on your hair and you should change frequently to clean the build up, but I never experienced that with this product. I was mortified to learn that Nexus had changed their marketing and began selling to supermarkets, which made it unavailable in Beauty Supply stores. I'm so glad I found it here online!
